Thursday October 23

Conference - Eastern Edge Gallery/Second Life
SESSION ONE
Artists in Session One will discuss and demonstrates Virtual Spaces, hybrid-reality performance, Anymation and Transhumanist Ideology. Session One will take place simultaneously at Eastern Edge Gallery and within the online virtual spaces of Second Life.

4 PM - Meet, Greet
4:30 - Welcome from Organizing Committee
5:00 - Second Front - Liz Solo introduces online spaces and discusses how some artists are using them. Featuring an online performance by the pioneering performance art group - Second Front.
6:00 - Second Me - 20 minute film on the real and virtual worlds of Bedix Freutel/Eifachfilm Vacirca, Germany
6:30 - Tom Jantol - Croatia/Second Life - Screening of shorts by Animator or "Anymator" Tom Jantol. The artist will be present live from Zagreb via Second Life to answer questions about his work and approach. Read an Anymation Manifesto
7:30 - Stelarc - Live from Second Life the Australian performance artist Stelarc will discuss his work. Stelarc's work explores and extends the concept of the body and its relationship with technology.
8:30 - Avatar Orchestra Metaverse - Live musical performance by this International online orchestra. Presentation will feature original musical compositions played on virtual instruments.

SESSION TWO
Artists in Session Two will discuss and demonstrate unique approaches to community building, art-making and performance.

4 PM - Coffee and Talk Touring with the Class War Kids and Jeffy T of the Brat Attack
5:00 - BlocksBlocksBlocks with Magali Meagher - Performer and musician Magali Meagher is a member of Block Recording Club and will present on their work. Blocks Recording Club is an Artist-Owned Worker’s Co-operative based in Toronto. Their goal is to work together as a musical community to help each other to record and release music.
6:00 - Volatile Works Media Collective - Glenn Gear and Brad Colbourne are both media artists and members of Montreal based Volatile Works Media Collective. They will screen and discus new work from the collective.
7:00 -
Noisefold - NoiseFold is David Stout and Cory Metcalfe from Santa Fe, New Mexico. They create interactive visual-music-noise performances that draw equally from mathematics, science and the visual and sonic arts.
8:00 - Errand Boy - Errand Boy will discuss their process creating performance by merging sound and moving images.

4:00 - Bob Wiseman - Musician, recording artist and filmmaker Bob Wiseman will discuss his multi-media performance work.
5:00 - Danny Keating - Local hero and DIY guru Danny Keating will discuss his recent work experimenting with media.
6:00 - Brittany Traverse - PUNXERCIZING WITH XNASTY BEEX: EXXTREME PUNK LIFESTYLEZZ!! - Brittany Traverse presents her new work-out video and discusses accessibility to new technology in (video) art.
