About Black Bag Collective

The Black Bag Media Collective (formerly the Rock Can Roll Media Collective) is an artist-run, production-focused media collective and independent record label formed in 2004 by seven Newfoundland artists - Liz Solo, Mike Kean, Marcel Levandier, Rhiannon Thomas, Jimmy Rose, Ron Anonsen and Montgomery Hall. The collective is now comprised of artists working across disciplines in independent music, New Media and performing arts. The Black Bag Media Collective is focused on producing and documenting the work of its artists in the form of audio recordings, live performances, new media presentations and via emerging technologies.

The Black Bag Collective produce punk rock shows, recordings, special projects, workshops, skills sharing initiatives, new media experiments and symposia. Every year the collective collaborates with the Independent Artists Cooperative and other community based groups to produce the Annual Rock Can Roll Independent Music and Media Festival.
