Tim Brickell - Brighton, England

atlantic basin project - volume one

Tim Brickell is an audio artist working in Brighton UK. He is the founder of Audiobunny, focused on creating sound for short films, sound and film installations, television, and designing audio logos.

"I like to mostly focus on creating music and sound pieces that last between 3 seconds and 3 minutes.

The first two pieces of work below ('Walt', and 'Spring and All'), are part of my "Musical Poems" series, and have recently formed part of a sound installation at the Phoenix Gallery in Brighton, in the toilets (!).

Basically, they're a collage of music, sound, and spoken word. The work was broadly influenced by early American country and folk, classical minimalism, Cindy Sherman's film still photographs, and sound and noise in general, as well as the people speaking the words: Allen Ginsberg, and William Carlos Williams.

The third piece, 'Empty House', is the result of my experimenting with creating sound for Second Life's virtual environments. For me it's an excellent opportunity to design interesting, unusual and complementary sound environments. This one is for a strange empty house I had for a while by the sea.
